Farine, what colors! We love beets, but never ate them with goat cheese and in a quiche. Sometimes in winter we can find some beets here in Thailand. And we can make soft goat cheese, so... who knows. It goes on my list of 'want to bake'. For the snow; impossible. But, two years ago we visited our family in Holland and had beautiful snow, even more than we hoped for.

Thanks for visiting, Flo! Yes, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Especially with beets... Although the yellow ones are much less assertive than the red ones. Are they available now in France?

Lovely layered colors for your quiche! And Laurence Salomon's pie crust is a winner.
But we've had SO much red beets from our AMAP that I'm afraid my husband would throw such a tart at my head if I serve once more something that contains beets this winter... ;)

Hello MC,
What color in your quiche - looks like a beautiful blossoming flower!
Your photos of the snowy landscape are just as beautiful - they remind me of the photography of Ansel Adams :^)
The pastry sounds delicious and interesting with the whole wheat, oats and poppy seeds.

What a beautiful post. I will look out for beets of different hues or maybe we will try to grow a small row or two in our little veg garden. I love the details about painting the pastry with mustard and the hazelnut sprinkling. They have gone straight into my head, filed under very useful and exciting ideas. Thank you!
